In addition to the rain, electrical activity has been recorded in various municipalities of the Mexican capital, such as Álvaro Obregón, Azcapotzalco, and Benito Juárez, according to the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection. The National Meteorological Serviceforecasted rain with electrical discharges and possible hail between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM that Friday.
The thunderstorm on Friday afternoon caused the generation of seismic signals due to the intensity of a lightning strike, reported Sismo Alerta Mexicana, an independent information dissemination project about seismic information. In addition, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 with an epicenter in Iguala, Guerrero, was detected in the early hours.
A cold environment is expected in Mexico City and the State of Mexico during the early hours of the day, with minimum temperatures between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius and maximum temperatures ranging between 25 and 27 degrees. For Saturday, partly cloudy skies are expected in the morning and isolated rains on Sunday in various regions of the country, such as Baja California, Nuevo León, Morelos, and Guerrero.
